WEEK 19

This is my summary of the protfolio that I did for my Internet and Multimedia class. My portfolio reflects all the knowledge that I received during this semester. In this summary I included the most important topic that I consider in my learning process during this semester. As you can see I included some concepts that really helped me to understand about each topic and helped me to put into practice it.

I think that all the knowledge that I received during this semester will helped me in my studies and in my future life as teacher. All the technological tools that I learned helped me to improve my presentations in all subjects and to do my homework better. In my future life I will use some if these tools to put into practice technology in my lesson plans.

I am really happy to finish this homework because it was difficult and I spent a lot of time doing it. I hope that in the future all the things that I did using web 2.0 tools will be useful for other students in their learning process.

WEEK 18

     In this week I was a little bit busy because I had to present my  Interdiscilplinary project. The judge of my project was my teachers of three subjects. I feel so nervous about my presentation, but beside that I feel so prepare.

     Basically, my project was about the lack of communicative techniques in the time class. So, with my partners we propose some techniques to help the teacher improve his class. Also, we included a lesson plan explained him the techniques and  activities to use in the class. 

     On the othar hand, I had to continue particpate in the virtual environments of my classmates. So, I was leaening more about the tolls of web 2.0 like: Edmodo, K12 lesson plans and Nicenet. My classmates use a lot of interesting activities that really helped me to improve my English knowledge. 

      I think all the experience that I had in the last week will be useful for my teacher career. As for example when I will have to present a topic in fron of my students I will feel comfortable to teach and when I will have to make a presentation in my job I will be sucessful. My participation in the virtual learning environments will help me to in the future create one to teach my students.

WEEK 17


During this last week I had to prepare my virtual learning environment using the web 2.0 tools that I learned. So, my teacher asked us to prepare our virtual environment about a tool that she gave us. So I had to prepare a k12 lesson plan class.

My class environment was about Reading skill. First, I research some information in the Internet about the topic. As for example I put in my gallery a photo that explain the reading process. Second, I create a discussion forum with the question: Is reading skills least important than grammar skill?. So, my students aswered the questuion a short paragraph giving me their opnion. Third, I create a quiz using an article that I found on the net. The quiz had some easy questions about the content of the article.

The new virtual environment really helps me apply all the knowledge that I received from my teachers in class. As for example to write the objectives and to find the activities I had to research and practicing my knowledge about lesson plans.

I think that in my future this class will be really useful to develop communication in class. As we know in the future technology will be more important in the learning process, so students will have to study in a virtual environment and me as teacher will have to be able to create this virtual environment for my students.

WEEK 16

The last week we had or presentations about each of the tools that the teacher asked as to prepare the last week so we had to present a tool of Web 2.0 infron of the class. While some students were presenting their tool the rest of the class had to take note and fill a handout with the definition of the tool, the use of it, the problems that it has and solutions for this problem and finally provide an example besides my partner's examples about how to use that tool in the classroom.

We present the following tools:
Twitter: It is a social online service that is use to send and read text-based posts those are name tweets. People can communicate around the word because it is a web social that helps people to share ideas, comments and opinions.
Google Maps: It is a web site where we can observe and find some addresses and places in the world. It is an application that can be used to plan a route. Also, it provides pictures that are taken by a satellite.
Podcasts: this application helps to distribute multimedia files such as video or audio. People can download audios and videos to listen whenever they want without have a subscription. Also, users can include a text and notes as subtitles.
Authorstream: It is a free plugin for Microsoft Power Point 2007. It is used to upload and share pictures and videos from YouTube in your PPT. You can share your PPT online because it doesn’t work without internet connection.
Wikispaces: This is a web site that could be edited by some authors. In a class is very useful for teachers because they can provide for their students and their parents information related to the class like: send homework, create discussions and feedback for students.
Mappy Friends: It is a platform for people's social recommendations about places around the world. You can share and find places based on your friend’s recommendations.
http://www.flickr.com/ : It is an online photo management. It is use to keep, organize, find and share photos and videos online. You can create videos with your own photographs and edit them to create slides very organized.

K12 Lesson plans: It is a website that enhances communication with students and parents with the teacher. You as teacher can create image galleries, online quizzes, parent e-mail list and event calendar. So, it serves as a very way to communicate.
Podomatic: It is a free service on the Internet that permits you to create your web/blog. Besides that you have the opportunity to join files and record or store new podcasts.
WebQuests: The Web Quest is a tool that forms part of an encyclopedia for educational work. The Internet promotes researches for students so this tool offers a lot of information about educational topics. It helps to encourage the use of cooperative work and autonomy of students and includes authentic assessment.
Dokeos: Dokeos is a Free Software for Enterprise Learning Management and Resource Management Education. It encourage communication because it offers a lot of options in its platform some of them like: forums, quizzes, messages, discussion groups, etc.
Edmodo: It is a free educational social platform which enables communication between students and teachers. It provides an easy and safe way to create a collaborative and connect classroom. Teachers can share content, homework and grades with their students.
Nicenet: It is website as a virtual course; that helps teachers to share their lesson plan, calendar of activities, also, it is use to send and receive messages. It promotes communication because students can participate in forums and read documents. Students can send homework and interchange opinions between teachers and partners.

WEEK 15

This last week the teacher had a discussion with us about how is the teacher's life. The things that a person as a teacher should know to teach in a primary school, high school or maybe at University. The teacher asked as about what we thing that a teacher must take into account to work in these places. We talked about each stage and the teacher gave us some important adivices to take into account, because she came up some of her experiences workin with teenagers and she retell us some of her experiences.

WEEK 14

During the last week the teacher can not come to class. Besides that the teacher explain us about the use of some tools of Web 2.0. So with my partner we have to find more information and prepare some examples to apply in the class using this tool. We had to prepare about Dokeos. This tool is really useful to create a platform in the class. Because teacher can send assessment and ask students to participate in forums or ask them to take a quiz.

WEEK 13

This week I learned about the use of Prezi in an EFL classroom. This program offers a different option to present a class. It was really important to learn because with this program you as teacher can innovate your classes using it. The teacher show us how use it and I have created an account in Prezi in which I posted some important information to use in demostrative classroom. Also, learned about the different kinds of blogs that teachers and students can use. So, I realize that each of tipes of blogs are really important in order to have a succesful class.

In the last week in my Internet and Multimedia class I learned about Web 2.0. According to this web site http://www.maestrosdelweb.com/editorial/web2/ Web 2.0 is the representation of the evolution of traditional applications to web applications focused on the end user. Therefore, I understood that Web 2.0 are tools that are available in Internet to share some applications. I think that these tools are very important to use the Interner in a better way. Also, I appreciate all these applications because these help us to share information around the world and to develop new knowledge because it makes our life easier.

Additionally, the teacher explained us about Google Docs, it is use to create and edit documents. We shared some advantages and disadvantages of the use of it. For examples some advantages are: you can see and edit wherever you are, share your information and control who can access it. And a disadvantage of the use of it is that not everybody has acess to Internet.

In the classroom we develop an activity using Google Docs. It was very useful, because we can understand about how include Google Docs into our lesson plans. The activity was develop in pairs, and we had fun doing this activity. I think that without our theacher guide it would be so difficult to understand how it works. In my future life as a teacher This new program will help me to share my lesson plan and to send to my students their grades.

In conclusion, my last week was very useful because the teacher also explained us how to work on our digital portfolios. She gave us the installador of Cuadernia, and we were practicing the use of it. At the end of our class, the teacher explained us Prezi, she gave us an example of how to teach using this program. I will create a class using Prezi program. In my opinion using this program I will help my students to learn in an easy way about a topic.

Have a lesson plan could be great, but applicated it was difficult. This week I have to present my class in just 15 minutes, but unfortunately it wasn't. First, I prepared with my partener our lesson plan with the use of technology for students of English of fifth year of basic education. Obviously, we prepared a PPT, too. We expected to use the time that the teacher gave us, but we had some problems during the class with the speakers. Second, the use of technology was a good idea but sometimes it could fail, like in my situation. Besides, we completed our lesson plan. The aim of our lesson was achieved for our students. Third, we made some activities for our students to have a free strees environment. At the end, we follow our lesson plan, so now we appreciate how important is prepare a class. In conclusion, this practice was good for us, because in the future we will be able to create a lesson plan using technology and applicated it in the class hour.

WEEK 10

In this last week I learned about how a lesson plan can be develop with the use of technology. Also during the class we uplated our second PPT and some classmates presented their PPT about the four skills focused on the process of teaching.

First, we learned about Lesson plan basic components: General information, Lesson objectives, Materials, technology resources and web addresses, Alternative activity, Adaptations for Special Learners, Instructional Procedures, Assessment and Homework. Lesson objectives must be based on ABCD Method, some experts suggest clearly objective helps teachers and students to comprehend and evaluate the class. So "A" is for audience; "B" is for behavior, "C" for conditions and "D" for degree of mastery needed.

Second, the PPt should be interactive for the students and it should follow the process of the class. We had to include the use of technology to create our PPT, it was a little difficult, because we have to do a lot of reserach to find all the activities and information to create a good lesson plan.

Third, the teacher checked our lesson plan. Then she gave as feedback to improve it. The ideas that the teacher gave us were very important to develop our objectives of the class. My class was about emotions and feelings. In order to learnt about the topic I have done some researches on the net.

In conclusion, learnt about how make a good lesson plan using technology will help me in the future to prepare a lesson following all the steps and use information clear and appropiate to the topic. Also, the teacher gave us some examples of bad lesson plans in order to learn of those errors and don't commit them again.

The last week in my class of Internet and Multimedia we talked about how made a lesson plan using technology. Then with the teacher's explanation we research more about teaching the four main skills. So, after that we try to make a better PPT based on our new research. Because we have to improve the last PPT. At the end, we made like a discussion about all our interrogates about What is a lesson plan and how create one.

Basically, the teacher gave us some examples about lesson plans, then she explained us that we have to create a similar using a 45 minutes class. With my parter we worked first in improve our PPT focused on the process of teaching. After, we select the topic for our lesson plan and we started to make our PPT for our microteching presentation.

Similarly, the last classes we learnt all these topics with my teacher's explanation. She gave us some easy instructions about how we should make our presentations. Also, the use of technology was very important in the class, because we are learning how to introduce technology in our lesson plans.

As well all the knowledge that I have received in my Internet and Multimedia class. I think that all these new knowledge will help me in my future profession as a teacher. Addionally, create a lesson plan with all the steps that it requires is very important to have a goal for each class and achieved with my future students.

WEEK 8

Hello my friends!In the last week we learned about the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.In the classroom we saw some PPT about each skill, the presentations explaned us about the process to teach each skill. For example in the listening skill we have to made the pre-listening, while-listening and after-listening. As well as in reading skill we have the same process. For writing skill the process is planning, drafting, revising and editing. And for speaking skill first is the guided practice and later free oral practice.

First,for teaching any skill we have to follow a process,for Writing the steps are: 1. planning, 2. drafting, 3. revising, 4. editing. For speaking the steps are: guided practice and then free oral practice. For Listening and Reading we have the same process: pre...- while...- and post... In this way we can understand how important is to follow a process while we are teaching a skill.

Second, we learnt that a lesson plan is a document in which is explained all the steps and activities that the teacher will follow in his class. Also. it explain about what he/ she expects in the lesson and how they can achieve it. This topic is very important for me as a teacher, because now I really understand that prepare a class is the key to be a teacher.

Third, with my teacher's help and her explanaition all the class was clear. The teacher gaave as a class about a lesson plan she used a PPT to explain us about the content of the lesson plan. In my opinion her explanaition really helps me to achieve my goals during this class.

Finally, I think that have learned about the process to tecah the four skills will help me in the future to create a good lesson plan. Additionally, learned about how to do a lesson plan will help me in my future life as a teacher.

WEEK 7

Hi everyone! I am really happy because the last week I learned a lot of things in my Internet and Multimedia class.
We learned about the principal four learning skills (writing, listening, reading and speaking).

First, we looked a PPT about listening skill, it has some important information to make the listening learning process easy. After to see the presentation we talked about how should be a good PPT,it should look professional, and has excellent visual appeal, grammar, punctuation and spelling without errors, and finally effects and transitions. Additionally, we said that each slide of the PPT have to include just specific information using spidergrams and including some images according to the topic.

Second, the teacher explain us that wehave to create a PPT about one skill. I had to make about How to teach Listening Skill. Both my partner and I made a research about our skill, and we found that to teach Listening we have to follow a process. The process is pre-listening in that we prepare the materials to use in the listening and we have to socialize the topic in the classroom in order to create a hipothesis; while-listening we have to take notes and veryfy the hipothesis; and post-listening check our notes and create a similar situation.

Third, in this class to learn we use the communicative method, the teachers exchanges opinions with us and also we made a reseach about our topic. I think that it is important because we achived the goals of the class. In the future I will use my new knowledge to teach in a good way listening skill using a professional PPT.

Finally, this class was very interesting and the topic was useful to our program, because we are learning to be an english teacher and the use of technology to prepare our materials is the best way to find the way to transmite our knoledge to our students in the future.

Hello my friends! In this last week in my Internet and Multimedia class, we received a seminar about Effective Use of Technology in the EFL Classroom. In that seminar my teachers explained about the topic in a very interesting way. I really appreciate the seminar, because we learned about: The Internet as a teaching & learning tool; Web sites for the EFL classroom; Bookmarking web sites; and Nicenet.

First, we learned about how we can use the Internet as a teaching & learning tool. So, we can use internet tools to active learning techniques, authentic materials, teaching resources, interaction outside the class and to prompt feedback. After that we reviewed some web pages about Authentic materials like: newspaper online and books, and some Podcasts; also we checked web sites to find Teaching resources such as: flashcards, Breaking news English, Lesson plans and ESLflashcards; Interaction outside the class, here we reviewed some sites like: facebook, edmodo (where we created an account as students), twiter and some google sites. Finally we reviewed some different ways of learning like: audio and video.

In another hand, we knew a Research tool called NoodleTools that helps us to create, organize and store, take and organize your notes, receive teacher and librarian comments, prepare a correctly and formatted bibliography. Also, here we watch a video to learn how it works. After that we talked about our learning reflective blogs and in which way it helps us to understand create our critical thinking. Blogs could have different educative purposes, it is very important for our reader understands in a better way our blog purpose. Finally, in that part of the seminar we checked about Active learning techniques such as: Online courses, Collaborative projects, Interactive exercises and Audio and video activities.

Second, we learned some Web sites for the EFL classroom. First, we checked some Web sites to develop the oral / aural skills like: teachingenglish.org and esl-lab.com. Second, we viewed some Web sites to develop reading and writing as for example: Online Newspapers - North America and UNC Writing Center. Consequently, these web sites are very important to include into our classroom.

Third, we studied about Bookmarking web sites. I had to create an account in Delicious, it is a social bookmarking web similar to "diigo". Then, we talked about NICENET. It is an Internet Classroom assistent for English teachers it helps them to revise students' assisgments easy. These are the main characteristics about NICENET: it is free, easy to use, no special support or hosting required and you can create as many classes as you want.

Finally, after to take the seminar we wrote our comments about what we learned during the seminar. The seminar was very interesting for me because it helps to create and share my knowledge in the classroom.

Hello my friends! I am really excited to share with you all my experiences during my last week in my Internet and Multimedia class.

First, the teacher explained us about a new site that we are going to use, it is called Dropbox. Dropbox is a free service that we can use to share any type of document like: PPT, Word documents, music, videos, etc. This site is simple to use it doesn't require be loaded or attached, you can just open in any computer with internet and your documents will be there. Then, the teacher had been send us an invitetion to our g-mail account to can create an account in Dropbox, It was really easier.

Second, we had to present our PPT about UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers that is in the next web site http://www.unesco.org/new/en/unesco/themes/icts/teacher-education/unesco-ict-competency-framework-for-teachers/. I had to work with my partner, however we made our PPT based on chapter 2. It was about The Principles of this Organization has about the ICT reform in Edcucation. This topic was very interesting for me to learn how ICT has been included in our classes, UNESCO mantains that teachers has to be able to use technology in class to develop the economy grown of all world, Education is the based of economy's world.

Third, the teacher explained us that we have to participate in the Diigo forum and write a comment about the next web page ICT in Education | United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. I included my paragraph here to give you my idea about this page: UNESCO facilitates the initiatives of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in order to improve teacher's education. ICT strengths the planning of education and it studies in which way technology can be applied to improve quality and ensure inclusion about education. Also,this program integrate ICT in teacher's development by supporting communities , where the education takes place: at work, in the comminity, in the family and in social and civic life. Furthermore the quality of teacher has been passed some challenges in teaching approaches,so the world needs more teachers to reach internationally-agreed on education. UNESCO believes that all these problems can be solved including ICT in the standars of competences for teachers.. After I did that, I had to create my diigo forum I choose this web site: learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/...teachers and I invited some classmates to participate.

Finally, we took a quiz about Plagiarism and APA Style. After that we checked a new web site: www.teachingenglish.org.uk/ and we had to create a new account. Then the teacher asked for an oral lesson about our Diigo account. At the end, we cheched a web page about listening it was very interesting and I enjoyed to use it in my Multimedia class.

Hello my friends! I want to share with you all the knowledge that I had learned in the last week in my Internet and Multimedia classes. First the teacher explain us about the site that we have to work in. It is called "Diigo", it is a bookmarking account to bookmark websites to teach english.In that web site we learned some things such as: how we can organize our web pages into files and we had to write a short description for each one including key words to help us to find the web pages that we have into our accounts. Second, for the next class we had to read this artcle: http://www.unesco.org/new/en/unesco/themes/icts,and read the three first sections (POLICY, LIFELONG LEARNING AND TEACHER EDUCATION) that are on the left part of this web site. Then,we had to write a paragraph (100 words max.) to give our comments about them. Consecuently, all the information that I received about ICT in education is very important to develop my teacher's roll because it helps me to understand in a better way how does technology should be include in our lesson plans. Also, my diigo account will help me to organize my web pages about different topics and it is important to share my knowledge in my forum classroom.

Hi everyone,the last week was very intresting in my Internet and Multimedia classes. Because we took a quiz about how to evaluate a web site, it was difficult for me because I didn't undersatand well about that topic. However I got seven in that quiz. The quiz was in hot potatoes program, this program I studied in my last semesters, so I knew how it works.The quiz was just in eight minutes. After that, the teacher had to go out of the class, but in that time we had to participate in the forum about Plagiarism. The teacher gave us some interesting pages to read about this topic like: http://liblearn.osu.edu/tutor/les1/pg1.html. In order to complete that task we have to follow some questions such as: What is citing? Why is citing important? What is a citation? When should we cite? What does paraphrase mean? What does quotation mean?. With my partner we asked for that questions in a short paragraph that we uplate in Aula Virtual class. Our paragraph explain about those questions, so I included our paragraph here.Plagiarism is turning someone’s work as your own. In this way we have to know how to do to avoid it. Fist, we have to know what citing is. Citing is to mention the author’s ideas and to distinguish between your own ideas from other author’s. It is important because it helps to develop our critical thinking and it helps us to make a very original job, creating new ideas to share with others your own way to see the things. Second, we must do citations in our works. Citation is a way to tell the readers of the information comes from another source. It helps us to find more information about the author`s ideas to research something else. Consequently, we should cite in different situations. First, whenever you use quotes. These are short notes to recognize that a text come from another source. Second, whenever you paraphrase. It means to say something that is already said in other words. Also, whenever you use an idea that someone else has already expressed. Third, whenever you make specific reference to the work of another and whenever someone else's work has been critical in developing your own ideas.. In the class we exposed about APA Style (American Psychological Association). It is about the rules and conventions established for documenting sources used in a research paper. I think that is important to avoid plagiarism someone's else work.

Then, in this class I learned reading information and surfing in the net to get more ideas. Also I improve my knowledge with my partner's expositions. In that way we share our opinions about the topic with the class.

Finally, I am going to apply my new knowlege to use someone's else ideas from the internet in my homework. Because sometimes is very difficult use our words to explain something, but now I know that plagiarism is a very serious problem. In our society we should change the way of investigate to improve our critical thinking.

WEEK 2

Hi everyone, I am very happy because the last week was very interesting. I learned a lot of things about Multimedia classes are some difficult for me, because I don’t like to use the computer but I am happy because I am learned every day how to use technology in order to improve my English knowledge. This week, I learned to use the web page from the University “Aula Virtual”. In that, the teacher gave us a password but we changed it to security of our web pages. I had to edit my personal information in the prifile to show my personality and add my photograph. In that webpage, we have to do our assignments and tasks. We upload the first group work related about the URL that the teacher gave us. Also, in class we discuss about how we should participate in the Forum, in this way we have to add comments and analyze the ideas from the rest of he class. The forum is a very interesting tool to discuss about a topic that the teacher asks us, so we have to share our ideas and personal opinions. The teacher said rubrics should be used to write our personal comments in the forum. We read the guidelines of the class. Finally, we shared our blog’s URL to show or reflective blogs and the teacher explain how we are going to do our portfolio with all the evidence of our learning process. I learned all this things practicing in my computer and I have to research information to be able to do my assignments. It is a little difficult, because these kinds of classes are totally different. However, I want to learn all about technology because I think that the knowledge that I received in this class will be useful for the rest of my career. I will apply my new knowledge to do my assignments in a good way and to improve my other subjects, because always I have to be surfing in the net and finding information to my other classes and I think that the information that I get in this class will help me to do my my other assignments excellent. WEEK 1

In this week the teacher explained us about what we have to do in our learning reflective blogs in multimedia and internet class. So, in these classes we learned how to suscribe in the university page and the last class we read an article from the internet about how to know if a website is reliable. In that article we found information about some clues to know if the website is realible for example: if the URL is sure, how to know if the author is realiable, new terms about internet and web jargon,if is the page as credible and useful as the resources and a lot of questions that will help us to learn how use in a correct way the internet and multimedia. I think that this new information will be very important to work as a teacher because as a teacher we need almost always been conecting with the world and the internet is a very useful tool to been informating about some new techniques and methods to teach. I learned in this class using technology. The computer is most important tool to learn in this subject; We are working on pairs and we have to take turns to use the computer. When something was difficult for me to understand the teacher help me and she showed me in the proyector what we have to do to resolve any inconvennient that we can found using technology. I will apply all the things that I learned in my fist week to follow the plan of this class. After I create my new account in the Aula Virtual, I can check all the things that the teacher includes in this web page. I am sure that all the things that I did in this class I will apply during this semester.
